It worked, but needed work!
I removed the old Shift Cable and was hoping the replacement would snap into place. it didn't. There are two brackets on my 2002 Honda Passport that hold the cable in position via tension clips that are supposed to expand and lock the cable to the two holding brackets. Well... the tension clips did NOT expand enough to stop the cable from popping out of its bracket. I used epoxy to secure both ends in place and the car now shifts perfectly. It was a pain-in-the-ass. But, considering my car is 17 years old, and I saved a bunch of money by doing it myself... I'm good as long as the shift cable stays in place.... and it will!
