these saved the bike. I really was concerned about the quality of these thinking they were just for show but they worked exactly as they should. Wore down about 1/2" with the bike sliding maybe 30' but held the side off the ground. Cant comment about them catching on anything flipping the bike cause the slide was all smooth road.
For the slider itself, i got the orange hoping to match the fork but its slightly darker. It is 3 separate pieces, and lend to the idea that the plastic is replaceable, but the slide ground the center aluminum tube too, so probably just replacing the whole thing.
Will be buying another pair.

It's larger than you'd think and the plastic is replaceable. Feels alright and no problems getting it on. Don't know how it'll hold up in a fall and not willing to test it. Oh the color doesn't match my 2012 fz8 fork; the frame sliders are more orange.
